InfoTalk worked closely with Intel to optimize its conversational speech recognition software for the Intel® Pentium® III and Xeon™ processors families. Critical sections of the recognition software were re-written to take advantage of the new platform. Significant improvements in recognition performance resulted, including better response time, higher accuracy and larger vocabulary.
Capitalizing on the advanced server features of the new Xeon™ processors, the system is now fully multi-threaded and capable of supporting Symmetric Multi-Processor (SMP) technology. By using multiple processors in the same system (two to eight processors currently, more in the future), this effectively increases the overall system computation capabilities and the number of users that can be simultaneously served by an InfoTalk system.
